A program of major repairs to Towneley Hall will take place in October 2022 and will be completed in early 2025. Each wing will be covered (in turn) by scaffolding and a temporary roof. As Towneley Hall is Grade 1 listed, the scaffolding could not be attached to the building for restraint– so the scaffold has been stabilized with a series of ballast/buttress towers that are designed to prevent the scaffolding from lifting during any adverse weather. With limited site access for storage, a load-bearing cabin gantry was added for the site team.
