Darwen Jubliee Tower

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Darwen Jubilee Tower

Timeframe: 12 months

WHAT WE DID

The tower - originally built in 1898 by public subscription to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and to mark residents’ rights to roam the moors has been fully restored. Kirk Scaffolding was contracted to supply a free-standing external access scaffolding capable of withstanding storm force winds off the moors. The scaffold structure was engineered to take limited support from the tower structure. Additional bracing and ballast were used to stabilize the temporary scaffold frame.
